11/6/2023 0 Comments Asus gpu tweak bluescreens![]() There is the odd occasion when it loads the default gaming profile instead of my custom ones but that's usually instantly noticable by the loud noise of the fans from my nVidia GTX1070. Once GPU Tweak II is installed, tested and verified, I leave it alone for as long as possible. This is mainly why I do not install/upgrade with every release because I have had some major problems in the past. When GPU Tweak II is working properly it's great but upgrading or changing anything once it is working is an invitation for issues to arise and spoil my day. Although, I really would prefer not to have all this trouble with Asus GPU Tweak II software. After setting up my custom profiles once more it seems to be working as expected. Then I rebooted the system and installed v2.3.4.0 again. I downloaded Revo Uninstaller and used that to clear out all related files and registry entries. After that there was no way Windows Control Panel "Programs and Features" was ever going to get rid of this software easily. AND all my settings and profiles were gone!!! ( Thanks again Asus! ) So I tried to uninstall everything and got the error which you did. 2021 GPU virtualization is a way of distributing graphics processing power to. Initially I just installed the update over the top of the existing software but, when I subsequently launched it, the version was still v2.2.3.0. But it could have also been how virtualization reacted with the ASUS. I had exactly the same issue as you did when I upgraded from Asus GPU Tweak II v2.2.3.0 to v2.3.4.0 and it was troublesome for me too. But I need this software and need it right away. It is no longer in the WIndows list of Apps, except for on the uninstall page. Now I cannot get Tweak II to start or load. To install this program at a later time, run the installation again. The wizard was interrupted before ASUS GPU TweakII could be completely installed. Then another box pops up reading "InstallShield Wizard completed. Consult Windows Installer Help (MSI.chm) or MSDN for more information. When you hit okay a bar moves across a box and it reads: "Computing space requirements." Then another box pops up reading: Feature transfer error Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation. "X Error 1316.The specificed account already exists." Then at the bottom of this pop up is a little OK button. Then another window popped up: "ASUS GPU TweakII Error. The process then began with a box reading: ASUS GPU Tweak II is configuring your new software installation. Then a little window popped saying: "Do you want to completely remove the selected application and all of its features?" Then, below a clickable box: Ok or Cancel. There's no mention of it being used in the beta versions of Windows 7, 8, or the 8.1 preview. After having some related problem, I tried to uninstall GPU Tweak II from the Windows uninstall menu. So, is this "red screen of death" indicative of anything serious, or was it just a particularly harsh crash from overclocking?Įdit: Upon a quick Google search, it seems like the beta version of Windows Vista used a "red screen of death", but it still had text whereas I got no text from this crash. ![]() I've been on the 8.1 preview for a couple of weeks now and have been playing games the whole time without any noticeable issues. My specs are the same as in my sig, except I'm currently using the Windows 8.1 preview with the official AMD Catalyst Windows 8.1 Preview drivers. It boots into Windows like normal and I'm not given any "Your computer just recovered from a serious error" message like I would with recovering from a normal BSOD. After a few seconds, the screen went blank (the monitor actually lost the signal) and the next thing I'm looking at is the normal BIOS screen as the computer boots back up. No patterns, no error message, just a blank red screen. I booted up the game, and I was only swapping between a few menus before loading my save when suddenly the screen went entirely red. I came back to the game later and decided to nudge it up to 1150 Mhz/ 1350 MHz. Played for an hour, didn't see any issues. So, what happened: First I tried bumping the GPU clock to 1100 MHz and the memory clock to 1300 MHz. I don't regularly overclock, as none of the games I have really call for it, but I have tried overclocking before, and hit the usual artifacting/game crashing when I pushed it too high, but I rarely would get a hard crash of my PC. I just picked up Tomb Raider off of Steam, and I figured I'd try overclocking my 7870. Something really odd just happened when I was playing Tomb Raider, and I figured I'd share it here in case it means anything. ![]()
